Taylor Kinney & Lady Gaga Broke Off Their Engagement in 2016; Are They Still Friends?

Although Chicago Fire's newer fans may be unaware of (or have forgotten) this fact, Taylor Kinney was actually once engaged to Lady Gaga, and the two dated for nearly five years.

While Kinney is known for keeping his personal life under wraps, and even the actor's departure from the fan-favorite series earlier this year was kept secret from the public, his romance with Lady Gaga was well documented at the time.

The two celebrities were going to get married and even began planning their wedding but called off the engagement in 2016. Now, their fans are wondering: are Kinney and Gaga still in touch?

The reasons why Gaga and Kinney decided to part ways have never been made public, although some rumors have been circulated among fans. According to various sources, the celebrity couple started fighting constantly when Gaga decided to film A Star is Born with Bradley Cooper, as Kinney was apparently jealous of his fiancée spending so much time with the Hollywood heartthrob.

And it looks like, seven years later, Kinney and Gaga are still not ready to be friends again, as the two have never been seen together in public since their split. Gaga is currently believed to be in a romantic relationship with businessman Michael Polansky, while Kinney is dating model Ashley Cruger.

And yet, we can safely say that Gaga still remembers her former flame, as she shared some of her feelings with the audience at the Joe Biden rally in Lancaster in 2020.

'I was engaged to a man from Lancaster, Pennsylvania,' she said. 'I know, I know, it didn't work out. I loved him so much but it just did not work out. But I still love me Pennsylvania guy,' Gaga said.

The stars' fans are obviously heartbroken that the union between these two talented people didn't come to fruition. However, both Kinney and Gaga have long since moved on from the heartbreak and are now living their separate lives happily. So, that breakup was a good thing, after all?
