The beloved character will return.

Netflix's offbeat fantasy series, Warrior Nun, premiered back in 2020 and quickly became a minor hit for the streaming service. The show returned for a second season in 2022, cementing Alba Baptista's status as a new superstar in the making.

However, it looked like Netflix's producers weren't keen on spending so much money to produce the show with respectable, but far from record-breaking, ratings. Much to the fans' dismay, they canceled the project after its second season.

After hearing the bad news, the Warrior Nun fandom took it personally and lobbied Netflix to reverse their decision and renew the show for Season 3. But the producers weren't going to budge one bit, refusing to even consider such an idea.

On August 15 of this year, executive producer Dean English finally reached out to the fandom and revealed that Warrior Nun will be back in the near future, but not in the form everyone thought.

While some fans assumed that Netflix might have rescheduled the series' new season, the reality turned out to be much more exciting. English revealed that the beloved show will be coming back in the form of a trilogy of feature films, which will not be produced by Netflix.

Yes, three Warrior Nun movies are already being written and planned, which certainly shocked many in the audience. Fans had a hard time realizing that their favorite show was not only being saved, but taken to a whole new level!

While some people were quick to joke that Baptista's romance with Chris Evans was the reason some unknown third party decided to spend millions to revive the show as a movie franchise, others began to worry that the original cast members wouldn't be hired back for the films.

'Don't get me wrong, I'm so excited we're getting so much! It's incredible. However, I grew too attached to the original cast and I'm really afraid that the movies are gonna have a brand new cast,' one Redditor summed up the concerns.

However, Dean English will surely ask all the actors back for the trilogy, or otherwise the fans would be disappointed and refuse to even go see the movies in theaters.
