Sydney Sweeney Opens Up After Wrapping Euphoria Season 3

Sydney Sweeney isn’t ready to roll credits: as Euphoria Season 3 filming winds down, she’s bracing for an emotional farewell to the career-making role of Cassie Howard.
Sydney Sweeney is almost at the finish line on Euphoria Season 3, and she is absolutely not ready to call cut on it. Honestly, fair. This is the show that turned her into a household name and basically defined her twenties.
Bracing for the wrap
On Wednesday, October 29, Sweeney hit the red carpet at Variety's 2025 Power of Women ceremony in Los Angeles, where she was honored as a cover star. Chatting with Variety's Angelique Jackson, the Immaculate and Anyone But You star admitted the end is coming fast — she has just two shoot days left, on Thursday and Sunday — and it is going to be a lot.
"It’s gonna be a really bittersweet moment. I’m kind of terrified for how emotional it’s gonna be. It’s been such a journey. It’s been my entire twenties. They’ve been my family and friends for so long. I’ve been forever grateful for all of them."
Sweeney, 28, has played Cassie Howard since Season 1, a role that blew up her profile and, for better or worse, made her synonymous with the show's messy hearts and even messier bathrooms. You could hear the nostalgia creeping in as she talked about it like a chapter of her life closing, not just a job wrapping.
The long haul with the same team
In a separate chat with Variety's Marc Malkin this week, she talked about the bonds formed on this thing. After eight years with the same crew and cast orbiting each other, she said there’s real comfort in showing up with the same people again and again. That tracks — you don’t grind through a show like Euphoria without building your own little survival tribe.
What we actually know about Season 3
- Release window: Reports are pointing to spring 2026.
- Cast: The plan is for the original cast to be back, with some new faces mixed in. The names floating around are surprising and kind of fascinating together: Trisha Paytas, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler, and Eli Roth. That is an eclectic set of additions by any measure.
Meanwhile, Sweeney's next swing
Outside of Euphoria, she’s got Christy on deck. She’s playing real-life boxing champ Christy Martin, with the film set to open November 7. Between that and an emotional Season 3 goodbye, she’s not exactly easing into the holidays.
