We're sick of constantly checking Netflix's social media accounts. Just give us something already!

Dearest gentle readers, let's address the elephant in the room and vent a little. The Bridgerverse drought is getting frustrating and I just can't keep quiet anymore. Where is the Season 3 teaser? Where are the new first look stills? Where is the official trailer? And most importantly, where is the premiere date for the Polin season?

September 25th has come and gone, marking a year and a half since Season 2 landed on Netflix, but no news came about the upcoming chapter. We are still in the trenches of an exhausting Bridgerverse drought. And there's no sign of that changing anytime soon.

December premiere looks less and less likely

The prevailing fan theory was that Bridgerton Season 3 will be released on December 14th. It came from social media posts made by Netflix Portugal at the Tudum event.

'Season three of Bridgerton premieres December 14,' the caption read before the posts were edited and the release information was deleted.

But fans remember everything and were expecting the official announcement of Season 3 on September 25th at the latest. You see, Netflix has a pattern of announcing release dates for their flagship shows about 90 days before the premiere. And the Bridgerverse marketing campaigns have a strong connection to the 14th and 25th dates.

But the show and Netflix's official accounts have been dead silent, making the 2023 release date increasingly far-fetched.

Is it the Hollywood strikes that are delaying the premiere?

You might think that it is the writers and actors strikes that are preventing the new season from happening. And that may be partially true. However, the delays are not related to production or marketing, but to Netflix's policies.

Season 3 was ready before the writers strike hit in May, according to Shonda Rhimes. And the promo campaign can begin even if the actors aren't allowed to participate. Of course, that means less social media buzz and no cast interviews, but shows like Sex Education and One Piece premiered in the midst of strikes and were still successful.

So there seems to be only one reason for postponing the Polin season. In the reality where they don't know how much new content they will get in the next few months, Netflix bosses want to spread out the highly anticipated projects.

At this point, however, it feels like postponing content is riskier than airing two hit shows side by side. After all, we can't rewatch the first two seasons endlessly. Sooner or later, other projects will take Bridgerton's place in our daily brain rot. And then it won't matter when Season 3 arrives.
