Stranger Things alum Joe Keery just stoked the MCU rumor mill, hinting he’s ready to suit up as Spider-Man’s next major villain.

Joe Keery walked onto Stranger Things as a supporting player with great hair and walked out a full-blown star. Now that the Hawkins saga is over, the internet is doing what it does best: fantasy-casting him into the Marvel machine. The current drumbeat? Make Keery the MCU's next Harry Osborn in the rumored Phase Six Spider-Man entry fans keep calling 'Brand New Day.'

The Harry Osborn chatter

Keery has been popping up everywhere since his Steve Harrington days, all while juggling his music career. With the next Spider-Man film looming in the distance, fans are circulating TikTok edits that pair him with Tom Holland and paint him as Peter Parker's bestie-turned-problem. Keery has seen some of those edits. He laughed it off, but not in a dismissive way: he said he is 'familiar with Spider-Man' and that it is 'fun to entertain' the idea.

What Keery actually said

While promoting his new horror-comedy Cold Storage, Keery kept his expectations in check. He acknowledged there is only so much an actor can control when different opportunities collide, and he is not trying to force the universe's hand. But he also left the door wide open.

'I guess you just keep your eyes open, and you read a ton and just hope for the best, I guess. But sure. Come on. Where's the script? Let's go.'

So, will it happen?

Nothing is official, and the title everyone is tossing around has not been confirmed. If Marvel really is lining up Harry Osborn for the Phase Six movie, Keery checks a lot of boxes: charming, a little dangerous when he wants to be, and already beloved by a massive audience. For now, he is game if the call comes in. Until then, the TikTok casting department remains undefeated.
