Even the millennials don't care about the former star of the '00s.

Anyone who watched movies in the 2000s, especially as a teenager at the time, must remember numerous rom-coms and dramatic comedies starring Lindsay Lohan. Just think of the iconic 2003 movie Freaky Friday or 1998's The Parent Trap, which made little LiLo a star — and also became her curse in later years.

Despite this early success, Lindsay Lohan hadn't been on the acting radar for ages, only occasionally making headlines with high-profile scandals she was involved in. Now, however, the star seems set to return to acting, appearing in two Netflix movies. The resurgence has already been dubbed 'Lohan-aissance' in the media, but the point is, not many people care about Lindsay anymore — not even millennials.

Starting out as a promising child star, Lohan was typecast to portray objectified and oversexualized characters in rediculous om-coms, and even her fans in the 00s seemed to have grown tired of the actress and her roles. The professional problems were aggravated by the star's alcohol and drug addiction, as well as legal and mental health issues.

Over the years, Lindsay has become infamous for all sorts of scandals, ranging from drunk-driving and sharing her inconsistent political views to trying to take children away from a homeless family of 'Syrian refugees.'

Now that Lindsay Lohan's mental and physical health has improved, she lives in Dubai with her husband, financier Bader Shammas, and the two are expecting their first child. In 2022, the actress starred in a Netflix movie called Falling for Christmas, and her next project with the streaming giant, Irish Wish, is scheduled for release in 2024. As you would expect from Lindsay, both movies are romantic comedies.

Receiving a 5.3 audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, Falling for Christmas didn't feel like anything special, and even the actress' long-time fans aren't particularly excited about the upcoming films of the 'Lohan-aissance.' While the career comebacks of Matthew McConaughey, similarly dubbed 'McConaissance,' and Brendan Fraser were anticipated and welcomed by many, the same cannot be said about Lohan. It looks like Lindsay doesn't have anything new to offer to the audiences.

'While mental illness and addiction deserve compassion and reasonable accommodations, Lohan needs a degree of consistency and support that's not always available on low-budget film sets, so it's unlikely this will turn out better than her previous similar projects,' a Redditor noted.
