The hit show just ended on a very silly note.

For a little over a decade, NBC's The Blacklist was one of the most popular prime-time network shows. Audiences loved following the escapades of the enigmatic criminal mastermind turned FBI enforcer Raymond Reddington, portrayed by James Spader, as he eliminated the most dangerous criminals the world has ever seen.

The show's addictive formula, centring each episode around a revolting criminal being outwitted by Red, kept fans hooked and binge-watching season after season. At least, that was the case for the first six seasons.

Even though the show ran for ten full seasons, fans noticed a significant drop in quality during the last four seasons. The writers seemingly got lazy and stopped creating new intriguing villains for Red and his crew to bring to justice. Even when audiences thought the quality couldn't deteriorate further, the writers astonished them by producing arguably the worst finale episode network television has ever seen.

For ten seasons, fans were dying to discover the true identity of the mysterious Red. The writers promised that the truth would be revealed in the final episode. However, it wasn't. And that wasn't even the worst part of this abysmal finale.

Many people may have anticipated Red's death in the show's final episode, hoping he would confront Ressler and die heroically in some kind of a final showdown. Instead, he was killed by a runaway bull. Yes, you read that right, the animal ended the life of the world's most dangerous criminal mastermind.

Naturally, fans struggled to comprehend the sheer absurdity of this situation. They hoped the writers were just messing with them and that Red would receive a fitting farewell later in the episode. Unfortunately, that was not the case - Red did indeed die after the bull hit him, and he received no closure before the credits rolled.

‘As if it couldn't get any worse than this, the show wraps up without ANY closure. No funeral for Red, no resolution for the characters we've been attached to for the last few years. Instead, the final scene is Ressler calling Cooper after finding his lifeless body,’ a fan complained.
