Will Lizzo Really Be Cancelled?

Earlier this month, superstar singer Lizzo was accused by some of her former employees of sexual harassment, bullying, and creating a hostile work environment. And not only did they make public allegations, they actually sued her.

The lawsuit certainly caught the attention of her peers. Some were swift to condemn her and cut all ties, while others came out in Lizzo's defence, contending that the accusations were entirely baseless. As the pop music scene remains divided over these allegations, fans are curious about Beyonce's stance on the Lizzo situation, especially since they collaborated just a year ago.

Following the controversy, many anticipated Beyonce to keep her distance from Lizzo. So, when Beyonce omitted Lizzo's name during a rendition of Break My Soul (The Queens Remix) earlier this month, most fans figured it was to be expected. Yet, there seems to be no basis for any assumptions that Beyonce would be cancelling Lizzo any time soon. A recent concert demonstrated that the legendary singer not only cares for Lizzo but openly supports her.At her concert in Atlanta yesterday, Beyonce boldly voiced her support for Lizzo during one of her songs, proclaiming her affection for the artist. Fans at the concert were elated to hear this, even though the allegations against Lizzo haven't gone away yet.

As Lizzo's former co-workers continue their legal battle against her, the support from several key figures in the industry doesn't automatically absolve her of any wrongdoing. Some fans even went as far as to suggest that if Lizzo were a man, her career would have been over the moment the allegations against her became public.

Whatever the case may be, fans should probably wait and see what the court rules on the matter before they go cancelling Lizzo. And all those big-name stars supporting the singer are probably doing so because they are confident she'll be found not guilty and all the charges against her will be dropped, as publicly endorsing an offender is not something people like Beyonce would normally do.

The court has yet to set a date for a hearing on the lawsuit.
