Netflix smash Dan Da Dan is officially renewed for Season 3. The Science Saru sensation, adapted from the manga by Yukinobu Tatsu, lit up 2024 and returned in 2025—now the madness is set to escalate again.

Dan Da Dan is not slowing down. Netflix's buzzy aliens-vs-ghosts anime just locked in Season 3, and honestly, given how hard this thing has hit, that was always the likely outcome.

What got announced

Right after the Season 2 finale aired in Japan, the official site and social accounts said Season 3 is a go and already in production. Same playbook as last time: Season 2 was announced only after Season 1 wrapped. If you like quick renewals, this show has been very good about that.

For the U.S., the series streams on Netflix, Hulu, and Crunchyroll, and also airs on Adult Swim. Season 2 began broadcasting in Japan on July 3, 2025; the new Season 3 announcement hit on September 18, 2025.

Quick refresher for the uninitiated

Based on Yukinobu Tatsu's manga and produced by Science Saru, Dan Da Dan premiered in Japan in 2024, blew up, and rolled right into a second season in 2025. Both seasons are 12 episodes.

"In a bet to prove whether ghosts or aliens exist, two high schoolers face terrifying paranormal threats, gain superpowers and maybe even fall in love?!"

That logline sounds wild because the show is wild. It leans hard into scary/absurd, then sucker-punches you with sweet.

Where Season 2 left things

The Season 2 finale adapts Chapters 69–71 from the manga (Volume 9, the Kaiju Arc), which is a pretty specific stopping point if you were mapping the anime to the books. The source material is still ongoing and currently up to 20 volumes, so there is plenty of runway left for Season 3 and beyond. Translation: they are not running out of monsters, weirdos, or feelings anytime soon.

Who is (likely) back

No casting shake-ups were teased in the announcement, so expect the usual voices to return:

  • Shion Wakayama as Momo Ayase
  • Natsuki Hanae as Ken Takakura / Okarun
  • Nana Mizuki as Seiko Ayase
  • Mayumi Tanaka as Turbo Granny
  • Ayane Sakura as Aira Shiratori

The bottom line

Season 3 of Dan Da Dan is officially happening and already in the works. The announcement timing matches the show's MO, the manga has more than enough material loaded, and the audience is clearly there across Netflix, Hulu, Crunchyroll, and Adult Swim. If you've been riding with Momo, Okarun, and Turbo Granny, you won't be waiting long for the next round of chaos.
