Slow Horses Star Reacts to the Episode 2 Twist That Changes Everything for Roddy

We finally step inside Roddy’s home life—and it’s exactly what you imagined.
Heads up: spoilers for Slow Horses season 5, episode 2.
Episode 2 just dropped and, for once, the show finally lets us step into Roddy Ho's natural habitat. Yes, we go inside his flat. It is exactly the chaos cave you think it is, and it becomes the stage for a surprisingly gnarly home invasion that turns into an improvised sword fight. Because when unknown hitters come for Roddy, the only thing within reach is a decorative blade hanging on the wall. Enter Jackson Lamb, who shows up to bail him out — in Roddy's space, on Roddy's turf. Great TV.
Roddy's flat: as loud as the man himself
Christopher Chung (who plays Roddy) said he was obsessed with the set the moment he walked in — the design, the vibe, the sheer 'man-child' energy of it all. That tracks. The production design basically does half the character work before he even opens his mouth.
"we have to give props up to how amazing that flat is"
"Absolutely wild."
Chung also said that when he yanks the sword off the wall, the prop turned out to be way heavier than he expected — which threw him for a second — but, as he puts it, luckily Roddy hits the gym. The best part for him, though, was forcing Lamb into Roddy's world and watching how that changes the power dynamic. It's classic Slow Horses: shove familiar characters into unfamiliar rooms and see what breaks. He called it a testament to the writing — audiences love watching these people get dropped into scenarios they never saw coming.
Meanwhile, across London...
- The Slough House crew regroups over a restaurant meet to figure out their next move.
- The Dogs — MI5's internal bruisers — haul Roddy into the Park (that’s HQ, for the non-Mick Herron readers).
- Back at Slough House, the team gets pinned down and held at their own base. Not ideal.
