September 25 is NCIS Day on CBS: Here's What's on Schedule
Get ready for an action-packed evening…
Can you believe we’ve now had 20 years of NCIS? Crazy, huh? But in recognition of the show entering its third decade, CBS has nominated Monday, September 25, 2023, as NCIS Day. They’ll be replaying some of the most iconic episodes on the evening of September 25, but there’s more to it than just that.
So, let’s take a look at what the network has planned for our delectation and delight on September 25 and in the lead-up to the big day:
NCIS Season 1 Premiere - Yankee White
When a marine dies onboard Air Force One, there’s confusion over who should run the investigation. NCIS, the Secret Service, and the FBI all stake a claim - with Special Agent Gibbs just doing his thing and arranging the autopsy. Along with Secret Service Agent Kate Todd, Gibbs realizes that what they’re actually dealing with is an attempt to assassinate the president. They nullify the threat, but Todd loses her job for the way she handled things. Fortunately, she impresses Gibbs so much that he hires her.
NCIS Season 2 - SWAK
Next comes this episode from 2005 that sees a letter delivered to NCIS. The letter has been sealed with a kiss (SWAK) and, when opened, disperses white powder into the room. The team must isolate themselves while tests are carried out to determine the substance. And what it is is a genetically modified version of the plague. The deadly virus leaves the team fighting to survive in a biohazard ward while Gibbs and McGee desperately seek the antidote.
NCIS Season 19 - All Hands
NCIS Day is rounded off with an episode from 2022. A small boat of wounded Navy officers is discovered in the North Atlantic by a civilian research vessel. Special Agent Parker leads the team that boards the ‘ghost’ ship to find out how the officers came to be left floating in the ocean and discovers it has terrorists onboard.
NCIS Day lasts from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m. on September 25, but you can get involved before that on social media. @NCISverse handles are already live on Facebook and Instagram, giving fans a chance to chat with each other, relive their favorite moments from 20 years of action, and engage with the show's social media posts.
