Looks like the fandom is shipping Danny and Maria together again.

CBS' Blue Bloods found itself in a rather unusual situation. Prior to its premiere, the Tom Selleck starrer was considered to be just another run-of-the-mill crime procedural that would be canceled and forgotten after a few seasons, but the series managed to defy the naysayers and become one of the most beloved and revered network shows out there.

Much of the audience's attention was captured by the intense chemistry between the cast, who seemed more like a family than a group of co-workers, and the relationship between Marisa Ramirez's Maria Baez and Donnie Wahlberg's Daniel Reagan was the most exciting for fans to follow.

These two detectives have been working side-by-side for quite some time now, and people have always wished that their work relationship would turn into a romantic one.

Danny and Maria are only professional partners now, fighting crime as part of the Major Case Squad, but viewers are counting the days before these two experienced detectives finally drop their caution and become lovers as well.

And it looks like Donnie Wahlberg's recently released season 13 wrap video is making those long-standing pleas for Daez even louder, as the adorable hug between Marisa and Donnie has captured the imagination of fans.

Seeing this kind of interaction between the two actors, fans once again began to imagine how great they would look playing the lovers in the series, arguing that Donnie and Marisa should channel their great friendship into creating a romantic feeling for the show.

Fans feel that Danny and Maria have been together for so long that the only sensible continuation of their story might be for them to become a romantic couple, as their friendship storyline has become rather tiresome, to say the least.

If the writers want to keep Danny and Maria relevant, they need to update their relationship immediately, fans argue.

While this idea sounds quite reasonable, the actors themselves are strictly against it, saying that they are just great friends in real life and don't even want to play the role of lovers.

Even if the actors are against it, that doesn't mean that the writers of Blue Bloods aren't cooking up something for the fans, as the amount of flirting between Danny and Maria has increased significantly in the last season. Maybe the long-awaited Daez ship will finally happen in the future? Fingers crossed!
