And we're still in Week 2 of the strike.

The Writers Guild of America strike began on May 1, and it's already clear that the conflict between the WGA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers will have a huge impact on the industry.

Lots of talk shows and series have been affected, and here are just 13 of them.

  1. Abbott Elementary

Writing and production for Season 3 did not commence on May 1 as planned. The show's writer Brittani Nichols confirmed that the season's release date will be affected.

  1. Big Mouth

The writing process for the eighth and final season of Netflix's animated sitcom was in full swing when the WGA strike hit.

  1. Cobra Kai

Cobra Kai Season 6's writing room was shut down on May 2, and Jon Hurwitz and the other showrunners expressed their support for the strike.

  1. Hacks

Production for Season 3 began in November 2022, stopped in February due to actress Jean Smart recovering from a heart procedure and resumed in March, only to be disrupted again in May.

  1. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight

Writing for HBO's second prequel to Game of Thrones stopped on May 7. The good news is that House of the Dragon has all the scripts for its second season ready.

  1. Daredevil: Born Again

Principal photography for the superhero series began in March and came to a halt on May 8. The filming is meant to take eight months, so a major delay is expected.

  1. Loot

As the production site of the Apple TV+ comedy series got picketed, filming for Season 2 was paused.

  1. Night Court

It was reported that the production for Season 2 would be shuttered, but NBC is unwilling to change its fall release schedule, claiming that the filming is completely or nearly finished.

  1. Power Book III: Raising Kanan

The writing team behind Starz's crime drama also supports the strike, but we may still see the next season premiere in fall this year (or later).

  1. Severance

Production of the second season of the Apple TV+ thriller series has been disrupted by picketing. Its creator Dan Eriksson also supports the strike, so prompt resumption is unlikely.

  1. Stranger Things

No one knows when the production of the hit show's fifth and final season is going to start, as the Duffer brothers made it clear that filming is impossible without the writing crew on set.

  1. Unstable

Even though the series had not yet been renewed officially, it was in pre-production, which is now stopped. Given the mixed reception of Unstable, this might result in cancellation.

  1. Yellowjackets

The show's writing team joined the strike after just one day of production for Season 3, and the future of the thriller drama series remains uncertain.

This list is not exhaustive, of course. Other shows like American Horror Story and Andor might have suffered disruptions too, though the information about them is contradictory or lacks details. Furthermore, we haven't even touched the talk shows, which got hit the worst.
