Scary Movie 6 Just Made a Major Move Ahead of Anna Faris' 2026 Release
Paramount and Miramax have set Scary Movie 6 for June 12, 2026, teeing up a box office showdown with Steven Spielberg’s untitled UFO movie and landing in an already crowded June slate.
Scary Movie 6 just crossed a big milestone: cameras are down, cast is wrapped, and the 2026 release date suddenly feels real. Here’s where things stand and who’s along for the ride.
Production: it’s a wrap
Paramount and Miramax’s next Scary Movie finished filming in Atlanta, with location manager Gonzo Rey del Castillo confirming the wrap on social media on November 23, 2025. He also posted the Wayans brothers’ wrap note to the cast and crew. No plot details yet — they’re keeping that locked up for now — but the core creative team is very much a Wayans operation.
Who’s making it
Michael Tiddes is directing from a script by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Keenen Ivory Wayans, and Rick Alvarez. If that lineup sounds familiar, it should — Tiddes and Marlon Wayans have teamed up before on A Haunted House, Fifty Shades of Black, Naked, and Sextuplets. The Wayans brothers are producing alongside Alvarez, with Jonathan Glickman, Alexandra Lowey, and Thomas Zadra executive producing.
Release date and the competition
The movie is locked for June 12, 2026. That’s a bold slot: it opens opposite Steven Spielberg’s untitled UFO movie. And the rest of the month is crowded too — live-action Masters of the Universe, Toy Story 5, and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow are all circling June. Big swings all around.
