Disney’s hunt for its live-action Rapunzel just took a twist: Sadie Sink, once the rumored frontrunner, is out, according to insider Jeff Sneider—leaving the Tangled remake wide open.
Disney is quietly cooking up a live-action Rapunzel, and the casting chatter just did another 180. The short version: the name you kept seeing in headlines a few weeks ago might not be in the running anymore, and a new favorite just stepped to the front.

Jeff Sneider was asked who he is hearing as the lead for Disney's live-action Tangled (via The DisInsider). In his newest update, he did not mention Sadie Sink at all, despite recent buzz that she was the frontrunner. Instead, he pointed to a different pair of names, with one clearly out in front.
'I do, I have heard that Zombies 4 actress Freya Skye is amongst the actresses being considered for the role and Disney does like her. That said, McKenna Grace is still the favorite amongst insiders.'
