Ryan Reynolds Says Another Deadpool Movie Is Coming After Deadpool & Wolverine

Onstage at Fanatics Fest 2026, Ryan Reynolds said the Merc with a Mouth isn’t done yet — and hinted the next outing will dig into corners of the comics the films haven’t touched. He described the material he’s eyeing as the kind of “deep cuts” longtime readers will recognize.

“There's a few really deep cuts I think are missing from the movies,” Reynolds said. “I think there's a few deep cuts from some of the comics…there's stuff upcoming. There eventually will be another Deadpool.”

Reynolds stopped short of calling it Deadpool 4 or labeling it a different kind of Marvel project, and he didn’t offer a timeline. Separate reports from May 2025 suggested three or four X-Men characters could be in the mix — a team-up idea that echoes the once-planned, now-shelved X-Force film from the Fox era.

The franchise has the wind at its back: Deadpool & Wolverine has crossed $1.3 billion worldwide, setting a new high-water mark for the character and cementing his place in Marvel’s current lineup.
