It's been there for five years but you're unlikely to have watched it.

Summary

  • The Harry Potter cast haven't had many prominent roles since the franchise ended.
  • Rupert Grint starred in a Sky One show available on Netflix.
  • The comedy will be removed from the streaming service in less than a month.

While some actors are blessed to play a variety of roles throughout their careers, others are stuck with a single character for the rest of their lives. In fact, it doesn't necessarily mean that an actor has no roles after a particular one, they are simply famous and beloved for a particular character they have portrayed. This is definitely the case with the cast of the Harry Potter franchise.

The fan-favorite series of movies about a wizarding world premiered over two decades ago and made its child actors true stars. The Harry Potter franchise has also earned the cast millions of dollars, but it has also had a detrimental effect on their careers – no other role they have played has rivaled their popularity as young wizards. And while Daniel Radcliffe has gone on to a number of successful projects, his co-stars like Rupert Grint haven't been as lucky.

For this reason, you absolutely must watch this British comedy show starring Grint while it's still available on Netflix.

Sick Note

Originally produced by Sky One, this black comedy follows Rupert Grint's character, insurance agent Daniel Glass, in his personal and professional life after he receives a grim diagnosis – terminal oesophageal cancer. However, it turns out that he's not actually sick – his incompetent doctor got the diagnosis wrong. But now that everyone seems to be treating Daniel much better, he is reluctant to reveal the truth and spins more and more lies.

Premiering in 2017, Sick Note ran for six episodes and was renewed for a second season, which was released half a year later in 2018 with eight more episodes. In addition to Rupert Grint, the show stars Nick Frost, Don Johnson, and even Lindsay Lohan, who joined the cast in the season 2.

The Show's Netflix Run

After its run on the air, Sick Note was distributed in the UK by Sky One's streaming service NOW. Worldwide, however, it was available on Netflix starting on November 23, 2018, when the company picked it up. Interestingly, the platform called it a Netflix original, which is a dubious statement considering it was produced by another network. Nevertheless, the show is definitely worth your attention.

Moreover, five years after its acquisition, Netflix is letting Sick Note go on November 22, so you need to make sure you watch the Rupert Grint-led show before it disappears from the streaming service.
