Fresh off a Golden Globe win, Seehorn stuns audiences with her acclaimed performance in the debut season of Apple TV’s hit series.

Well, here's some good news if you just finished bingeing Pluribus and are already stressing about the wait for season 2. Rhea Seehorn — yes, the recent Golden Globe winner for her knockout lead as Carol Sturka — says they're not dragging their heels. According to her, creator Vince Gilligan and his team basically dove right back into the writers room after wrapping season 1, and they're as eager as anyone to get the next chapter rolling.

Speeding Things Up (But Not That Fast)

Seehorn put it pretty simply after her Globe win: 'I know he wants us to go as soon as possible. He's not playing any kind of game to make people wait for this. But he wants to craft the show with all the care for his fans and the people following this story that he can. So we'll get back as fast as we can.'

That said, don't expect miracles. Filming hasn’t even started, and Gilligan only just reopened the writers room in November. And last month he basically told fans: hang tight — 'it's going to be a while between seasons', since apparently these shows don't just write and film themselves. Still, the hope is to kick off filming ASAP so the wait doesn’t drag on longer than necessary.

Quick Refresher: What Pluribus Is (and Why Everyone's Obsessed)

If you somehow missed the first wave, the elevator pitch is wild enough: Seehorn plays a romance novelist who's mysteriously immune to a virus called 'the Joining'. That virus has, get this, turned almost everyone else into a single obedient hive mind known as 'the Others'.

The show ended up beating out Severance to become Apple TV Plus' most-watched title — so yes, the hype is real, and people are anxious for answers after that December 26 finale left a sea of cliffhangers and double-crosses up in the air.

Seehorn: 'I Honestly Think Carol Is Not Sure'

One weird little inside bit: apparently, even Seehorn is confused by her own character’s arc at this point. She told GamesRadar+ she’s made peace with feeling in the dark about Carol’s big-picture plan, especially since Vince Gilligan isn't exactly handing out roadmaps.

Here’s how she puts it: 'Maybe this makes me a horrible actor. I honestly think Carol is not sure. I didn't do it out of laziness. I did it because one of her flaws – that sometimes is a superpower – is that she's so impulsive. She's just so impulsive and acts before she thinks. I think she knows she's got to do something big, and I'm not really sure what she's going to do with it.' Basically? Plot twists are coming, but your guess is as good as hers.

What To Expect Next (Realistically)

  • No scripts filmed yet — the writers just got started again late last year.
  • Gilligan and team want to move quickly, but quality is still the focus.
  • Season 2 isn't likely until next year at the earliest, so patience is a virtue.
  • If you thought that season 1 finale was ambiguous, even the cast is in the dark for now.

Until then, Pluribus season 1 is streaming on Apple TV Plus — and if you don’t want to stare at a blank screen waiting for season 2, you might want to check out our picks for the best Apple TV shows or peek at what else is coming in 2026. Just don’t expect answers about 'the Others' any time soon.
