Pluribus star Rhea Seehorn just revealed the latest Apple TV+ episode hides a stealth Better Call Saul reunion, quietly bringing her back together with a longtime co-star.

Apple TV+ quietly slipped a Better Call Saul reunion into Pluribus, and Rhea Seehorn didn’t even know it was happening. It’s a small thing, but a fun one: a familiar voice hiding in plain sight in Episode 5.

The cameo you didn’t see: Patrick Fabian on the phone

Seehorn confirmed to TV Guide that her former Better Call Saul co-star Patrick Fabian pops up in Pluribus Episode 5, titled 'Got Milk', as the voice of the Others' phone answering service. Yes, Howard Hamlin himself — just not in person. The twist is that Seehorn didn’t know it was Fabian during filming, because the crew kept it from her to get a real reaction.

How they sprung it on her

The reveal hit during a long take when Seehorn’s character, Carol, first hears the service. Producers were apparently hoping she’d crack mid-scene, but she held it together — barely. She clocked the voice right away, tried not to blow the take, and then lost it as soon as they cut.

'They surprised me. I did not know about this.'

'They called cut, and I started laughing and ran out and said, That’s Patrick! You got Patrick!'

According to Seehorn, they’d been sitting on the gag for a while specifically to mess with her. She joked that if someone analyzed her face frame-by-frame, you could probably see the moment she silently goes: 'What? Patrick?'

Where it lands in the episode

The call happens after a rough stretch for Carol. She drugs Zosia to squeeze information out of her, which triggers a heart attack. Then the hive — the group Carol is tied to — bails on her in Albuquerque, leaving her alone with nothing but that automated voice to guide her. So yeah, a lot of pressure riding on a very calm phone system. Casting Fabian there is a neat touch.

A mini Saul reunion, minus the suits

For anyone catching up: Fabian played Howard Hamlin on Better Call Saul from 2015 to 2022, opposite Seehorn’s Kim Wexler. He was a partner at Hamlin, Hamlin & McGill, where Kim worked. Even setting the Easter egg aside, Seehorn pointed out the obvious — Fabian’s got one of those all-time great voices. Which, honestly, makes him perfect for a disembodied phone presence.
