Smoked cheese and fresh herbs turn this dish into spring’s headline act—finger-licking and impossible to resist.

File this under: humble salad glow-up. Smoky cheese and a fistful of herbs take the classic crab stick salad from fridge-cleanout to spring-ready. The flavor pops, the colors look fresh, and it fits a Tuesday lunch or a party spread without breaking a sweat.

You will need

  • Crab sticks - 1 package
  • Eggs - 2
  • Smoked cheese (sausage-style) - 180 g
  • Tomatoes - 2
  • Canned corn - 4-5 tbsp
  • Garlic - 1 clove
  • Fresh herbs (dill, parsley, or green onion) - a small bunch
  • Mayonnaise - to taste

How to make it

Start with the eggs: boil them until hard-cooked, then cool completely so they slice cleanly.

Dice the crab sticks, smoked cheese, cooled eggs, and tomatoes into even cubes. Toss everything into a mixing bowl and add the canned corn.

Finely chop your herb of choice (dill, parsley, or green onion all play nicely here) and add it to the bowl. Press the garlic clove through a garlic press so it blends smoothly into the salad.

Spoon in mayonnaise to taste and fold everything together gently. You want a creamy coat, not a mayo swamp.

Little upgrade

Stir 1 tablespoon of smoked capelin roe paste into the mayo before dressing the salad. That one move deepens the smoky vibe and makes the whole thing taste more composed.
