Record of Ragnarok returns December 10, 2025, thrusting humanity’s showdown with the gods into a make-or-break phase. Based on the manga by Shinya Umemura, Takumi Fukui, and Azychika, the series pushes the 13-vs-13 tournament into its most decisive rounds yet.

Humanity vs. the gods is back on the clock. Record of Ragnarok Season 3 drops December 10, 2025 on Netflix, and the tournament finally tips past the halfway mark. We pick up right where Season 2 left off, then barrel straight through two more heavyweight matchups. New studio, new director, new character designers, and an even deeper roster. Here is the lay of the land without the fluff.

Season 3 at a glance

  • Release: All Season 3 episodes arrive simultaneously on Netflix on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
  • Where we stand: After six rounds, the score is tied 3–3 in a 13-vs-13, winner-stays-dead tournament between humans and gods.
  • What gets covered: Three full rounds. Round 7 wraps Qin Shi Huang vs. Hades (humanity wins). Round 8 is Nikola Tesla vs. Beelzebub (the god wins). Round 9 is King Leonidas vs. Apollo (the god wins).
  • Scoreboard swing: That takes the series from 3–3 to gods leading 5–4 by the end of Season 3.

The match order (and why it matters)

Season 3 opens by finishing Round 7, the Qin Shi Huang vs. Hades fight that Season 2 left hanging. The first emperor of China pulls off the upset, banking a clutch win for humanity.

Then comes Round 8: Nikola Tesla vs. Beelzebub. It is exactly the flavor clash you think it is — invention and idealism squaring up against a plague-brained god with a mean streak. Beelzebub shuts Tesla down, tying things back up on the gods’ side.

Round 9 swings immediately after: Spartan king Leonidas vs. sun god Apollo. Leonidas brings the shield wall; Apollo brings overwhelming precision and showmanship. Apollo takes it, nudging the gods ahead 5–4 overall. It is a decisive stretch — three momentum-shifting fights in a row.

New studio, fresh leadership

Production shifts this season from Graphinica to a new tag team: Yumeta Company and MARU Animation. It is not a minor shuffle — the top of the call sheet changes too. Koichi Hatsumi (Tokyo Revengers, Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown) takes over as director from Masao Okubo, and Yasuyuki Muto (Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway, Tokyo Revengers) is scripting in place of Kazuyuki Fudeyasu.

Character design also gets a refresh. Yoko Tanabe and Hisashi Kawashima step in, replacing previous designer Masaki Saito. It is a lot of turnover for a single season, but on paper it is a solid lineup for big, clean action and character readability.

New fighters entering the arena

Humanity rolls out Nikola Tesla and King Leonidas for Rounds 8 and 9. The gods answer with Beelzebub and Apollo. Three Valkyrie sisters also factor in with new Volund fusions — and yes, the weapon forms are very specific this time:

Alvitr (10th sister), voiced by Shiori Mikami, performs Volund with Qin Shi Huang. Gondul (9th sister), voiced by Misako Tomioka, becomes Tesla’s Super Automaton beta armor. Geirolul (5th sister), voiced by Mai Toudou, turns into Leonidas’s aspis shield. It is delightfully nerdy, and it actually matters to how the fights play out.

Voice cast: who is who this season

On the Japanese side, the bench gets deeper than usual: Makoto Furukawa is Nikola Tesla, Hiroshi Shirokuma is King Leonidas, Daisuke Namikawa is Beelzebub, and Kenichi Suzumura is Apollo.

Returning mainstays include Miyuki Sawashiro as Brunhilde (humanity’s strategist and Valkyrie leader) and Tomoyo Kurosawa as Goll, with Kaito Ishikawa continuing as Qin Shi Huang as his Round 7 bout with Hades concludes.

Source material and scope

The anime continues adapting the manga by Shinya Umemura, Takumi Fukui, and Azychika. Season 3 is focused and forward-moving: it closes one cliffhanger and then barrels through two fresh rounds, which is a cleaner pace than last time.

The bottom line

Three rounds, two new studios, one very crowded cast list. If you have been waiting for the tournament to tilt, this is the season that does it.

Which matchup are you most hyped to see unfold: Qin vs. Hades, Tesla vs. Beelzebub, or Leonidas vs. Apollo?
