Priyanka Chopra Tried to Get Outlander Spoilers from Sam Heughan, Failed
She didn't interrogate her co-star out of respect.
Love Again, starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Outlander star Sam Heughan, hit the screens on May 5. So far, the romantic comedy received an impressive audience score of 92% on Rotten Tomatoes and 5.9/10 on IMDb — the numbers can change, of course, but it's probably safe to say the film is worth watching.
And it's no surprise because its leading stars are both amazing performers, and one of them even turned out to be a fan of the other's work!
Yes, Priyanka Chopra is actually a fan of Outlander, and like any other fan of the Starz show, she would die to know how the series is going to end!
Jonas and Heughan, who has played Jamie Fraser in Outlander since the show premiered in 2014, spent a lot of time together on the set of Love Again, but the actress failed to get any spoilers about the series from her co-star. And it looks like she didn't even try hard enough, assuming that answering questions like these is 'above [Heughan's] pay grade.'
'We definitely get on really well,' Priyanka Chopra told Digital Spy, commenting on her work with Sam, 'But I have been on enough secret shows to know I can't ask some questions!'
Indeed, Jonas has starred in a number of high-profile series that aroused a lot of public interest and could be easily ruined by spoilers. In particular, she played FBI agent Alex Parrish in Quantico, a three-season spy thriller series with a complicated plot, which won her two People's Choice awards. The actress also starred in Amazon Prime's Citadel, another spy thriller show, which premiered recently.
Priyanka is probably used to being bombarded with questions about her shows, so it's understandable that she chose not to interrogate her co-star about the future of Outlander.
Besides, Sam Heughan himself most likely had no knowledge about Outlander's finale back in 2020, when Love Again was filmed. Based on Diana Gabaldon's novel series of the same name, the Starz show follows its source fairly closely — but the final book of the series hasn't been written yet! Gabaldon is currently working on the tenth novel, but because it's going to be a prequel about Jamie's parents, we can expect that the author will write a few more books to finish the Outlander series.
Season 7 of Outlander premieres on Starz on June 16, 2023, and you can see Priyanka Chopra Jones in Amazon Prime's Citadel — the next episode will be released on May 12.
