Even though 2024 has just begun, we're already seeing its first releases. Here are just seven of the most exciting Prime Video premieres coming in the near future.
Role Play (12th January)
Starring Kaley Cuoco, David Oyelowo, and Bill Nighy, this upcoming action thriller takes you on an exciting journey with Emma Brackett, a wife and mother by day and professional assassin by night. Though her husband has been unaware of it all along, things change when the couple decides to spice up their relationship with some role-playing that quickly gets out of hand.
Expats (26th January)
This TV adaptation of Janice Y.K. Lee's novel The Expatriates revolves around a tight-knit community of American expatriates in Hong Kong who live lives of privilege and affluence on display for others to see. At the same time, their tragedies and personal dramas are intense, and there seems to be no one to comfort them. The upcoming series stars Nicole Kidman.
Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2d February)
This TV reimagining of the 2005 cult film of the same name will offer an updated and more intriguing version of the beloved love-conquers all story. While based on the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie film, Mr. & Mrs. Smith has a more compelling premise, following the titular characters, portrayed by Donald Glover and Maya Erskine, in their first attempts at espionage.
Ricky Stanicky (7th March)
Starring Zac Efron, John Cena, Jermaine Fowler and Andrew Santino, this original comedy revolves around three lifelong friends who created the imaginary scapegoat buddy when they were kids and have blamed him for their every shortcoming ever since. Things take a dramatic turn when the characters' partners get fed up with their antics and demand to meet Ricky. Now they must come up with a way to cover up their years of lies.
Road House (21st March)
Starring Jake Gyllenhaal as a former professional UFC middleweight fighter who now works at a roadhouse in the Florida Keys, this action film documents his post-career struggle to find his place in life and fit in with people who don't seem too eager to accept the newcomer.
Fallout (12th April)
Based on the video game of the same name, this upcoming series is set in an alternate reality where the world has experienced an apocalyptic nuclear exchange after World War II, and people have resorted to living in underground bunker communities and struggling to survive. Fallout stars Ella Purnell and Kyle MacLachlan.
The Idea of You (2d May)
Following a forty-year-old divorcee, Sophie, this upcoming romance offers a beautiful love story between her and the much younger lead singer of August Moon, a famous boy band performing at Coachella, where Sophie has taken her sixteen-year-old daughter. Portrayed by Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine, the two characters develop an exciting romance against all odds.
