The Night Manager Poised for Season 3 After Key Update

Looks like The Night Manager isn’t planning to bow out after its comeback. With Season 2 about to hit Prime Video, the director just hinted that a third season is already moving forward behind the scenes.

Season 3 chatter, straight from the director

In a new interview with Variety, Season 2 director Georgi Banks-Davies said the next chapter is no longer just a maybe. Writer and series architect David Farr is already at work on it, and the long game was always to play this as a three-parter.

"There was a third season that was always in the offing," Banks-Davies said. "David is writing it now - he’s at the coalface and in the early stage. But yeah, when the second season came, the plan was to go to three. So when you see our whole series, you’ll see it can sit entirely alone but can also sit very much as the second book in the trilogy."

Translation: Season 2 is meant to stand on its own, but it was designed to lead into a final chapter. Not exactly a shock for a show this meticulously plotted, but still nice to hear it out loud.

What Season 2 is actually about

Tom Hiddleston is back in his Golden Globe-winning role as Jonathan Pine, who has tried to pack away the spy life and blend in. He’s now going by Alex Goodwin, a low-level MI6 officer running a quiet surveillance unit in London. That lasts about five minutes. A chance run-in with a familiar mercenary from Richard Roper’s orbit yanks him back into the mess and puts him on a collision course with a new power player: Colombian businessman Teddy Dos Santos, played by Diego Calva.

Pine’s way in is Roxana Bolanos, a savvy businesswoman played by Camila Morrone, who reluctantly helps him slip inside Teddy’s operation. That trail leads Pine to Colombia, where he gets tangled in an arms pipeline training a guerrilla force and a larger scheme aimed at destabilizing a country. Trust is scarce, loyalties splinter, and Pine has to choose who to believe and how far to push before the whole thing blows up in his face. Classic le Carre chaos.

When and where to watch

The Night Manager Season 2 lands on Prime Video with a three-episode premiere on Sunday, January 11, 2026. After that, new episodes roll out every Sunday, wrapping with the finale on February 1.

And if Banks-Davies’ update holds, expect this to play like the middle chapter of a planned trilogy, with Season 3 already being written.
