Circle December 10 — Mega Dimension arrives, primed to ignite year-end buzz.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A barely got out the door and we already have DLC on the calendar. And not just any DLC — this one has donut portals, a mythical guide, and Pokemon cranked past level 100. I am listening.

Mega Dimension DLC lands December 10 — and we got two trailers today

The Pokemon Company dropped two new looks at Mega Dimension, the first expansion for Legends: Z-A, arriving December 10. The setup: weird spatial distortions are popping up around Lumiose City, and a new character named Ansha teams up with her mythical Pokemon Hoopa to send you into Hyperspace Lumiose — yes, literally through Hoopa’s donut-shaped rings. It’s a new zone with creatures you won’t find in the base game.

What’s actually in Hyperspace Lumiose

The gameplay footage shows a bunch of arrivals you couldn’t catch before, including the Corviknight line, the Munna/Musharna line, the Baxcalibur line, and more. On top of that, two Pokemon are getting fresh Mega Evolutions here: Baxcalibur and Chimecho. I am absolutely rooting for Chimecho — the little wind chime has been politely underpowered for, what, 23 years? The new Mega looks great; we’ll see if it actually hits harder.

  • Release date: December 10
  • Two new trailers out now
  • New area: Hyperspace Lumiose (accessed with Ansha and Hoopa’s donut portals)
  • New-to-Z-A Pokemon spotted: Corviknight line, Munna/Musharna, Baxcalibur line, and others
  • New Megas: Baxcalibur and Chimecho
  • Difficulty bump: enemies can exceed level 100 via 'hyperspace levels'
  • Must finish the base game to start the DLC story
  • Return of Korrina from X and Y, now joining Team MZ
  • Bonus side mission available now: Diancie (with steps below)

Yes, the DLC looks tough — like, past level 100 tough

In the footage, some Pokemon go beyond the usual level cap. The official line explains why:

'hyperspace levels'

That seems tied to Hyperspace Lumiose itself, not the normal city, so don’t expect every Kalos alleyway to start spawning 120s. Also not shocking: you’ll need to finish the base game to access this story content.

Kalos fans, a familiar face is back

Korrina — the Gym Leader from Pokemon X and Y — returns and teams up with the protagonist in Team MZ. The base game already teased her, so this tracks. No word yet on any other X/Y alumni, but the door feels open.

Bonus you can grab today: Diancie

If you’ve cleared the main story, there’s an extra side mission live right now to nab the mythical Diancie. Connect your game to the internet, grab Diancie’s Mega Stone from the Mystery Gift menu, then swing by the Looker Bureau to trigger the encounter.
