Tyrion is not too keen on watching the Targaryens tear the kingdom apart.

House of the Dragon was definitely the biggest hit of 2022 and remains the most popular show HBO has in their current roster. But while fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the series' second installment, which will deepen the story outlined in George R. R. Martin's original book, the original Game of Thrones' cast members are not too keen to watch the prequel, either because of their busy working schedule or because they're just tired of the world of Westeros.

In one of his recent interviews, actor Peter Dinklage, who's famous for his portrayal of Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones, was asked about his reaction to House of the Dragon. Much to the surprise of fans, the star was unable to give a proper answer to the question, saying that he was too busy working and watching shows like Rick & Morty and Ozark.

'I haven't seen it yet. I just did that show for a really long time. And I watched some other stuff. [But] I intend to, definitely. I heard it's really good,' Dinklage said.

It looks like Dinklage's extensive work on Transformers: Rise of the Beasts isn't entirely to blame for his failure to see the spin-off. The actor invested so much of his time in filming the original show, he is now unwilling to see other actors doing essentially the same thing in the shared universe — and Dinklage is not alone in this sentiment, actually.

Both Emilia Clarke and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau revealed that after nearly a decade of filming Game of Thrones, they are unable to watch House of the Dragon because it simply brings up too many memories for them to bear. Nikolaj even said he was not able to sit through the opening credits because the same Game of Thrones music disturbed him, making him want to turn off his TV immediately.

Kit Harington, on the other hand, managed to watch a few episodes of House of the Dragon before quitting, noting that his mental health is still far too fragile to watch anything Game of Thrones-related again.
