Percy Jackson is sailing back onto Disney+ with Season 2, and yes, they are going full Sea of Monsters. The premiere lands Wednesday, December 10, 2025, with a two-episode drop to kick things off, then it settles into a weekly rollout. If you binged Season 1, this is the natural next chapter: bigger creatures, higher stakes, and a not-so-dormant Titan problem.

Who is back
The core trio returns: Walker Scobell as Percy Jackson, Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth Chase, and Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood.
Previously on Percy Jackson (quick refresher)
Season 1 introduced Percy as Poseidon’s kid, sent him on a cross-country quest, and ended with him returning Zeus' master bolt — effectively averting a god-level war. The twist: Luke Castellan turned traitor and aligned with Kronos, which is bad news for both Camp Half-Blood and Olympus. Annabeth, Grover, and the rest made it out alive, but the show very intentionally teed up a larger threat brewing in the background.
So what does Season 2 cover?
This year adapts Rick Riordan's second book, The Sea of Monsters. The big problem: Camp Half-Blood's protective magic is failing because Thalia's tree has been poisoned. The fix everyone is banking on is the Golden Fleece — which means Percy has to brave the Sea of Monsters to find it.
Percy teams up with Annabeth, Clarisse, and his cyclops half-brother Tyson. The mission doubles as a rescue: Grover has been lured by Polyphemus, a not-exactly-friendly Cyclops guarding the Fleece. On top of surviving monsters and storms, Percy is trying to undercut Luke's escalating plan to help Kronos rise — a plan that puts the camp, and eventually Olympus, in the crosshairs.
'Percy ventures on an epic odyssey into the Sea of Monsters in search of his best friend, Grover, and the one thing that may save the camp — the legendary Golden Fleece.'
Translation: expect bigger set pieces, more creatures, and a lot of plot momentum. The stakes are personal and cosmic at the same time, which is this series' sweet spot.
The vibe going in
Season 1 did the heavy lifting with world-building. Season 2 looks like the show taking the training wheels off: quests by sea, a poisoned tree to heal, a Cyclops problem to solve, and a traitor to stop. It is the kind of adventure where the friendships matter as much as the monster fights, which is why this story works.
