People Saw 30 Minutes of Superman—They All Say One Thing

Superman reboot reactions are in. Snyder bros won't like it.
Some lucky fans just got an early look at the first 30 minutes of James Gunn's Superman, and reactions are flying in fast — and very loud. If you were hoping for another gritty, joyless brood-fest… this probably isn't for you.
The new DCU kicks off in earnest on July 11, 2025, and while most of us are still waiting, Warner Bros. gave select viewers a preview — and according to them, Gunn's Superman is actually good. Like, really good.
Social media's full of reactions calling it "damn beautiful," "amazing," and "so f—ing good." Multiple people singled out the flight scenes, with one comparing them to Top Gun: Maverick, which Gunn himself previously cited as a reference point. One viewer posted:
"Holy… just saw 30 min of #Superman. The fly scene is unique and you can feel the speed of Superman. IMAX is a must for this movie." – @goodjoeth
Another fan said the tone and visuals hit just right:
"No way I saw the first 30 minutes of Superman after feeling so hopeless the entire day. Needless to say it was DAMN BEAUTIFUL. Time absolutely flew by…" – @migomegamig
And yes, the cast is getting praise too. David Corenswet is being called "SO GOOD" at switching between Clark and Superman, with early buzz saying his chemistry with Rachel Brosnahan's Lois Lane is already clicking.
The phrase "fresh new perspective" came up more than once, which is exactly what Warner Bros. is hoping for after the long, messy goodbye to the old DCEU. And while it's still very early, there's no doubt this first 30-minute preview is doing its job — fans are hyped, and even a few skeptics are starting to come around.
James Gunn wrote, directed, and co-produced the film, bringing along a stacked cast:
David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. Supporting players include Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Edi Gathegi, Skyler Gisondo, Isabela Merced, Wendell Pierce, and about half the WB talent roster.
Superman is the official launchpad for the new DC Universe — Gunn's big swing at rebooting the whole thing with a version of the Man of Steel that's actually optimistic, human, and not covered in grayscale.
Whether the full movie can stick the landing remains to be seen, but so far, it looks like Superman might just be the reset button DC actually needed. And if that upsets certain corners of the internet… well, Gunn probably expected that too.
