Paramount Plus has a busy week lined up Nov 17-23. The big swings are a massive new season of The Smurfs and the glossy Elton John biopic Rocketman, with a thoughtful Bryan Cranston drama and a very cozy PAW Patrol add rounding things out.

The Smurfs Season 3 drops Wednesday

If you need something for kids (or just some bright, blue background noise), The Smurfs Season 3 lands Wednesday, Nov 19. This is the 2021 revival, and the new season is not messing around: 52 episodes. Yes, fifty-two. Same tiny blue neighbors in mushroom houses, same look-alike faces, but each one leans hard into a specific personality. You know the drill.

Rocketman soars in on Friday

On Friday, Nov 21, Rocketman hits the service. It is the biographical musical about Elton John, tracing his early prodigy days at the Royal Academy of Music and the creative/life partnership with lyricist Bernie Taupin. Taron Egerton plays John, Jamie Bell plays Taupin, and the supporting bench is stacked: Richard Madden, Bryce Dallas Howard, Gemma Jones, Steven Mackintosh, Tom Bennett, Matthew Illesley, and Kit Connor.

Also new: Wakefield and a fireplace you do not have to clean

Wakefield (2016) arrives Wednesday alongside The Smurfs. It is a drama written and directed by Robin Swicord about a man who snaps, bails on his family, and secretly holes up in an attic to watch their lives go on without him. Bryan Cranston plays the guy on the ledge, with Jennifer Garner, Jason O'Mara, Beverly D'Angelo, and Ian Anthony Dale among the co-stars.

Then on Friday, there is PAW Patrol Holiday Fireplace, which is exactly what it sounds like: the pups relaxing by a crackling hearth with a Christmas tree, stockings, and presents in frame. Consider it a seasonal screensaver approved by toddlers.
