Paramount Plus Rings In 2026 With Can't-Miss Premieres: Every New Show and Movie Dec 29–Jan 4
Paramount Plus rings in 2026 with New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash—airing December 31 from 8–10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.–1:30 a.m. ET/PT—and rolls out new drama Barron’s Cove in a December 29–January 4 lineup.
Paramount+ is wrapping 2025 with a five-hour country music blowout and kicking off 2026 by dropping a ton of movies. If you were planning to hibernate through New Year’s, the service has other ideas.
New Year’s Eve: Nashville goes big (and live-only)
On Wednesday, December 31, 2025, Paramount+ is streaming 'New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash' live-only at 8-10 PM ET/PT and again from 10:30 PM-1:30 AM ET/PT. It’s also airing on the CBS Television Network. The five-hour broadcast lines up performances from Jason Aldean, Lainey Wilson, and Bailey Zimmerman.
Behind the scenes, the special is executive-produced by Mary Hilliard and Robert Deaton, in partnership with Music City, Inc. If you want to watch on Paramount+, note the 'live stream only' part — this one isn’t being framed as an on-demand afterparty.
New Year’s Day: a dark thriller to start 2026
'Barron’s Cove' lands on Thursday, January 1, 2026. Garrett Hedlund stars as a father with a violent past who kidnaps the kid he believes is responsible for his own son’s death. That sparks a manhunt led by the boy’s father — who happens to be a powerful politician. Grim premise, clear hook. And no, despite the title, it’s not about a relaxing waterfront getaway.

That’s the window. If you tune in on the 31st, it’s live country all night. If you log in on the 1st, it’s basically a film festival.
