Paramount+ Axes Popular Series Spin-off After One Season
Paramount+ has axed NCIS: Tony & Ziva after just one season. The short-lived spinoff’s demise leaves the NCIS franchise’s next chapter in question.
Well, that was quick. Paramount+ has canceled its NCIS spin-off 'NCIS: Tony & Ziva' after just one season. If you blinked, you might have missed the whole thing.
What got axed
'NCIS: Tony & Ziva' brought back Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo as Anthony DiNozzo and Ziva David, the fan-favorite pair from the mothership series. The premise? The former NCIS agents team up with a mysterious tech program to chase down a crew that ripped off Interpol. Yes, the 'shadowy tech' angle was a curveball for a franchise built on good old-fashioned gumshoe work, but the hook was simple: Tony and Ziva, together again.
When it aired
The show premiered September 4, 2025, and wrapped its run in October 2025. Total episode count: 10. And now, that is the entire series.
Who was in it
- Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo in the leads
- Isla Gie
- Amita Suman
- Lara Rossi
- Maximilian Osinski
- Anne-Marie Waldeck
- Julian Ovenden
- James D'Arcy
- Nassima Benchicou

The farewell note
In a joint statement on the cancellation (via Variety), Weatherly and de Pablo thanked pretty much everyone involved, and made sure fans knew Tony and Ziva got a proper sendoff.
"We feel incredibly lucky to have had the chance to play these characters once again and to tell the next chapter of Tony and Ziva's story," Weatherly and de Pablo said in a joint statement. "Our deepest thanks go to our extraordinary cast, crew, writers, directors, and producers, and to our partners at CBS Studios and Paramount+ who helped make this dream a reality. But most of all, we want to thank the fans around the world who joined us on this adventure and finally got to see Tony and Ziva find their happily ever after."
So where does that leave things?
The show is done after one season, but if you were here for closure, the creators and stars are basically saying you got it: Tony and Ziva ended on a happy note. Not the outcome fans hoped for in terms of longevity, but at least the story did not cut to black mid-sentence.
