Fans can't overlook a glaring plot hole.

The CW's Supernatural was and still is an incredibly successful show with a fanbase numbering in the millions, even though it has been off the air for quite some time. The story of the two Winchester brothers battling supernatural villains on a weekly basis delighted fans throughout its 15-season run.

Although the overall storyline was well-crafted, viewers still found many plot holes that significantly ruined the show for some of them. Among these, the worst offender was the story of how God defeated Amara.

Amara, often referred to as The Darkness, was God's sister. Understandably, the dynamic between the two was rather fraught, so God created archangels with one purpose in mind - to defeat Amara throughout the multiverse and imprison her for eternity. The Archangels did just that, and Amara was imprisoned for good. But why do fans regard this story as a plot hole?

The thing is that it was stated several times during the show that only God and Amara are beings that can live in the entire multiverse, while humans, demons, and angels all exist in multiple variations in different universes.

For example, each universe has its own archangels, who have the same name but are essentially different beings.

So, while the idea of archangels from different universes joining forces and fighting Amara sounds epic, it simply couldn't happen according to Supernatural's own rules.

Although fans are understandably upset about this glaring inconsistency, they still defend the show's writers, arguing that the whole multiverse concept was introduced very late in the show while the rules of the game were laid down much earlier, resulting in the writers failing to follow their own canon, which, while disappointing, is hardly a deal-breaker for the show's true fans.

With 15 seasons under its belt, Supernatural may be somewhat inconsistent in its storylines, but even with numerous plot holes, it remains a rewarding and compelling binge-watch.
