Shake-up in the Diddy case: attorneys Shawn R. Perez and Ariel Mitchell have exited Ashley Parham’s lawsuit, leaving her and co-plaintiffs John Doe and Jane Doe to find new counsel, according to documents obtained by Complex.

Another shake-up in the ever-expanding Diddy legal saga: Ashley Parham just lost her lawyers. That is not the kind of mid-case plot twist you want if you are suing a music mogul and a handful of other boldface names.

Parham's lawyers walked, and they used the classic breakup line

Attorneys Shawn R. Perez and Ariel Mitchell have withdrawn from representing Ashley Parham in her civil case against Sean "Diddy" Combs. They were also representing two co-plaintiffs listed as John Doe and Jane Doe. According to new court filings obtained by Complex, the lawyers cited "irreconcilable differences" and said their relationship with the clients had become "unreasonably difficult." In legal-world terms, that is basically 'we cannot work together anymore,' without airing specifics.

They told the court they notified the plaintiffs and gave them time to find new counsel, and they asked the judge to briefly pause the case so the attorney switch does not put the plaintiffs at a disadvantage. For now, Parham, John Doe, and Jane Doe need new representation.

What Parham says happened, and how this case started

Parham sued in October 2024, accusing Combs of sexually assaulting her as "payback" after she said he had something to do with the murder of Tupac Shakur. Combs has long been the subject of rumor and conspiracy around Tupac's killing; Parham's comment allegedly set off what she describes as a terrifying chain of events.

  • 2018: Parham says she met a friend of Combs at a bar. The friend started video-calling Combs to impress people. Parham says she was not impressed and remarked that she believed Combs had "something to do with the murder of rapper Tupac Shakur." According to the complaint, Combs overheard and vowed to make her "pay."
  • About a month later: The same friend invited Parham to his home, saying he needed help with his cancer medication. Parham alleges Combs showed up there, held a knife to her face, threatened to give her a "Glasgow smile," tore off her clothes, and "violently" raped her with a television remote. She says he told her her life was in his hands and that she could disappear.
  • Aftermath: Parham alleges multiple people sexually assaulted her until she lost control of her body and could not move. She says she tried to escape, but Combs blocked her and offered money if she would call it consensual. She ran to neighbors as gunshots were fired in her direction; the neighbors, she says, had already called police. Parham claims the Contra Costa Sheriff's Department did nothing to help her despite her report that Combs and others raped her.
  • The lawsuit: Parham is suing Combs and six others for sexual assault, battery, abuse, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and more. She is seeking a jury trial.
  • Amended complaint (filed March 7, 2025): Two more celebrities were added by name — comedian Druski (Drew Desbordes) and NFL wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Per the filing, and as summarized by E! News, Parham alleges Druski "doused Plaintiff with more oil/lubricant and then jumped on top of Plaintiff's naked and oiled body [before] raping Plaintiff vaginally." She also says she heard defendants refer to someone as "Cornelius" during the attack, a name she later connected to Odell Beckham Jr.

How Druski and Odell responded

Druski has publicly denied the allegations.

Odell Beckham Jr. chimed in shortly after Druski's statement, posting this:

Boy I'll tell u what. This world makes absolutely no sense. I am covered by God. He will prevail. I kno who am I , I kno who u are, keep ur head. That name will be cleared. Shxts stupid

Where this leaves the case

With Perez and Mitchell out, the plaintiffs need new counsel, and the lawyers have asked the judge for a short timeout so the switch does not hurt the case. Inside baseball: "irreconcilable differences" is routine language, but paired with "unreasonably difficult," it usually means the client-lawyer relationship broke down over strategy, communication, or both. The allegations remain just that — allegations — until a court or jury sorts them out.

Separate from all this: Combs' other legal trouble

Unrelated to Parham's lawsuit, Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison on October 3 after being found guilty on two counts of engaging in transportation to prostitution. Different case, same overall picture: his legal problems are not going away.
