One of the great things about Netflix is that there are movies of all genres to watch and enjoy. Lately, the streaming service has been especially busy making new action movies. Here are just five of them.

Lift (2024, 5.5 on IMDb)

This heist comedy/action film starring Kevin Hart, Jean Reno and The Morning Show's Gugu Mbatha-Raw follows Cyrus, a master thief whose ex-girlfriend/Interpol agent Abby offers him a mission. Working with Interpol, Cyrus must steal $500 million worth of gold bullion during a flight from London to Zurich to prevent a terrorist attack. He reluctantly agrees, and many dangerous events follow.

The Mother (2023, 5.6 on IMDb)

Starring Jennifer Lopez, this action thriller centers on her character, a US military operative nicknamed The Mother, who is torn between her love for two men and her duty to protect the innocent when she learns that her lovers are involved in child trafficking. However, she also learns that she is pregnant with one of the men's children, and now she must protect her daughter at all costs, even though she intends to abandon her after birth.

Heart of Stone (2023, 5.7 on IMDb)

In this spy thriller, Gal Gadot's Rachel Stone, an international intelligence agent nicknamed Nine of Hearts, is tasked by a peacekeeping organization, Charter, to protect an advanced artificial intelligence technology, The Heart, from criminals and other forces of evil. During her mission, Stone finds herself in all kinds of dangerous situations – all to prevent The Heart from falling into the wrong hands.

Sixty Minutes (2024, 5.7 on IMDb)

This German action movie follows a young MMA fighter, Octavio Bergmann, who, on the eve of a very important fight, receives an unequivocal ultimatum from his ex-wife to be present at their daughter's birthday party, or else the woman will file for full custody of the girl and he will never see her again. Desperate to be with his daughter, Octavio leaves the fight and rushes to meet her in sixty minutes, only to find out that some very important people have bet a lot of money on him and will go to great lengths to get him back in the ring.

Badland Hunters (2024, 5.9 on IMDb)

This Korean dystopian action is set in Seoul, which has been torn apart by a massive earthquake that has turned the city into a lawless wasteland where crime is king. The film follows hunter Nam-San and his friend Choi Ji-wan as they scavenge the wasteland for resources to help their community survive. One day, their lives become even more dangerous when a mad doctor kidnaps a girl from their village to perform his viscous experiment on her. Of course, Nam-San and Choi Ji-wan have to rescue the damsel in distress.
