Of Course Superman Has a Credits Scene. This Is DC, After All.

James Gunn's Superman is finally hitting theaters on July 11, 2025, and with it comes the usual ritual: should you stay in your seat after the movie ends, or bolt for the exits?
Let's not kid ourselves. This is the new DC Universe's cinematic kickoff — of course there are credits scenes. Gunn may be rebooting the franchise, but he's not about to break the one sacred law of comic book filmmaking: always leave a dangling teaser, or three.
So yes, Superman has two credits scenes:
- One mid-credits
- One post-credits, right at the end
No spoilers here — just know that both scenes are more tied to this film than setting up some decade-long cinematic roadmap. Which, frankly, might be a blessing given how often "universe-building" turns into "never actually goes anywhere." Gunn apparently kept the focus on Clark Kent, not the next ten spin-offs.
If you're keeping track of where DC's going, this film follows the animated Creature Commandos on Max, but this is the first theatrical release of Gunn and Peter Safran's new regime. And with Supergirl and Clayface already lined up for 2026, these scenes probably won't be the last time you'll be asked to sit through ten minutes of CGI credits and Dolby logos.
Here's what you're walking into:
Cast:
- David Corenswet as Superman / Clark Kent
- Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane
- Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor
- Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen
- Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner
- Edi Gathegi as Mr. Terrific
- Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl
Studio: Warner Bros.
Director: James Gunn
Release Date: July 11, 2025
The official description promises Gunn's usual cocktail of "epic action, humor and heart," this time applied to the original superhero. And given the general state of the DC brand, there's a lot riding on this one not imploding on impact.
But yes — if you're buying a ticket, maybe don't sprint for the lobby once the lights dim. DC's not done with you just because the credits roll.
