Nutsa and Lucy Love Left American Idol 2023, Fandom Divided
On the scale of love-can't bear the sight of – which are you?
The twenty-first season of American Idol has undoubtedly become one of the most controversial in the show's history. From casting decisions to contestant eliminations, discussions have never ceased. As the competition races towards its conclusion, fewer performers remain on stage. In the recent 30 April episode, two more contestants, Nutsa and Lucy Love, were eliminated, failing to advance to the next round. This development left some fans furious and others relieved.
It seems that these two performers did not receive unanimous support. Some American Idol fans confessed they had been waiting for Nutsa and Lucy Love to be eliminated from the competition for quite some time.
'Nutsa was over the top and a little annoying in how much she was clearly “playing the game” – just no authenticity,' one Redditor wrote.
Similarly, Lucy Love's forced stage presence did not impress fans either.
'Tonight staring unblinkingly into the camera while dancing was also off-putting,' another Reddit user commented on Lucy Love's performance in a recent episode of the contest.
In general, many American Idol fans found the two contestants to be fake. Nutsa, in particular, faced a significant amount of criticism for her far-fetched over-the-top performances. Some people even went as far as to call her a 'cruise ship/pageant girl.'
However, there are fans who believe that Nutsa and Lucy Love were more talented than some other contestants and didn't deserve to be eliminated from American Idol Season 21.
'Low key I think Nutsa is better than Colin Stough,' a Redditor wrote.
Other comparisons included such names as Mary Beth, who some said could not keep up with Nutsa. The overall opinion is that there were more suitable candidates for elimination, while Lucy Love and Nutsa still had much to offer.
Regardless, what's done is done. Season 21 of American Idol is quickly approaching its conclusion on 21 May. The next episode airs on Fox tonight, 1 May.
Fans are eager to see how the remaining contestants perform, debating who will ultimately claim the title of this season's American Idol. With so much anticipation and controversy surrounding the show, the finale is sure to be a spectacle worth watching.
