Notebook-Worthy: Virgin River Season 5 Teases Mel & Jack's Most Romantic Moment Yet
Is Season 5 going to blow us away, or what?
Let's face it: ever since Mel Monroe and Jack Sheridan first laid eyes on each other in the inaugural season of Virgin River, we've all been obsessed with this couple. While these two small-town lovebirds are far from perfect, and their relationship has experienced its fair share of ups and downs throughout the show's four seasons, their chemistry is palpable, and they share some of the most romantic and heartwarming scenes on contemporary television.
Consider the scene in Season 1 when Jack persuades Mel to stay in Virgin River. Or in Season 2, when Mel refuses to let go of Jack's hand. Didn't those moments give you goosebumps?
‘It’s difficult to pick one [favourite Mel and Jack scene], I love so many of their moments together,’ a fan wrote in a discussion dedicated to Virgin River's protagonists.
How can we argue with that? However, it seems that the forthcoming fifth season, set to premiere on 7 September, is poised to knock our socks off with the most romantic moment between Mel and Jack yet.
And for those of you who can't wait two weeks (or more) to see that scene, we have great news: you can watch it right now! TVLine shared a short video that begins with the beloved characters in one of the least romantic and potentially dangerous situations imaginable. They appear to be lost in the woods.
Mel is clearly frustrated, and, as we often do in stressful situations, she reflects on all the hardships she and Jack have had to overcome in the past.
‘We just can’t seem to get a break,’ she exclaims. ‘I mean, what else could possibly go wrong?’
And at that very moment, it starts pouring down with rain. Of course, all they can do is laugh and share the most romantic kiss ever. I mean, seriously, it's a kiss in the rain. What could be more romantic than that?
‘Gosh… I love this scene. This couple is just perfect for each other. Truly Netflix may have outdone this season,’ an excited fan wrote in the comments for the video.
Brimming with good humour, love, and heart, this scene is a real treat for all Virgin River fans. And we can't wait to see what else Season 5 has in store for us.
