After years of anticipation, Stranger Things is finally entering its endgame — and Noah Schnapp’s reaction to the final scripts hints the show is about to outdo itself. Season 5 kicks off with the first four episodes.

Stranger Things is finally heading for the finish line, and based on what one of the core cast members just said, Netflix might actually stick the landing.

What you need to know

  • The final season premieres with the first four episodes on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.
  • The show has been one of Netflix's flagships from day one, and Season 4 basically set the table for the last big showdown.
  • Noah Schnapp (now 21) says the final scripts had him flipping out in the best way.

Noah Schnapp read the finale script... in the shower

Schnapp told People (exclusively) that friends warned him he was going to love this season. He brushed it off—until the day before the table read, when he started the scripts and immediately spiraled into full hype mode. His words, not mine, and yes, he literally read them in the shower. The visual is doing a lot of work here.

"I remember I had people texting me before the scripts came out, like, 'Noah, watch out. You're going to like this season.' And I was like, 'Oh, whatever, whatever.' And then we got to the day before the table read, and I was reading it in the shower, and I was like, 'Oh, my God.' Like, calling my mom, 'Oh my God, you have to read it,' and freaking out. I was skimming it as I was getting ready in the shower."

Zero subtlety there, and honestly, I appreciate it. If his reaction is any indication, the final run might top what came before—which is saying something for a show that has pretty much kept its grip on pop culture since 2016.

Will Byers is still the heartbeat

Schnapp has been central to Stranger Things since the first vanishing act, and it sounds like Will will be crucial again in the endgame. Expect him to have a big role in how this all wraps up.

The core of the show, straight from the source

He also summed up why the series clicked with so many people for so long: it is about friendship, connection, belonging, and leaning into what makes you different. That message apparently hits on set too; the cast bond is very real. Schnapp suits up as Will Byers one last time in Season 5.
