Newest Rumor Suggests Bridgerton Season 3 Fall/Winter 2023 Release Window
It's been almost a year since the release of the second season of Bridgerton, a series about romance in the early 19th-century London high society — and as fans reminisce about the highlights of the previous seasons, rumors about the series' new season keep coming.
At the beginning of March, several German websites published articles about the possible release window for the upcoming season three of the fan-favorite Netflix show, and though these sites are a far cry from being credible sources, people can't help but discuss the new rumor.
According to these articles, the new season is expected to arrive this fall or winter. While no official statement has been made by Netflix or Shondaland, the company that produces the show, this gossip may in fact have some valid basis.
For one, we know that the new season of Bridgerton can't be aired any time sooner because of the upcoming release of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, a prequel spin-off also created by Shonda Rhimes, the Shondaland founder. It's a six-part series focusing on the early years of Queen Charlotte, wife of King George III — the woman who decides the fate of the characters during the time of the main series.
The creators won't dare release a new season right after the spin-off because, if they do that, Queen Charlotte may not receive as much of the audience's attention as it's supposed to.
Despite this, some fans still hope to see some promotional material immediately after the prequel series' release.
"I am still hoping for a 25th of August release though. They can start their s3 promo right after releasing QC," Reddit user yaaaasmin says.
Indeed, Bridgerton's seasons one and two were released two years and four months apart: the first was aired on December 25, and the second, on March 25. And if you take away one year skipped due to the COVID-19 pandemic delaying all major projects, it looks like season three may actually be released on August 25.
But alas, with no official announcement coming from the producers, fans are left to wander in the fog of rumor and speculation. Fortunately, there's one thing we do know for sure — Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is scheduled to air on May 4.
