The galaxy’s favorite duo is back on the big screen—catch the new Mandalorian and Grogu trailer playing in theaters now.

Disney slipped a new trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu into theaters, but there is a catch: it is only playing before Zootopia 2. Yes, if you want the fresh look at the first Star Wars movie back on the big screen, you have to buy a ticket to the animated sequel. I caught the new cut, and here is what is actually different.

Where to see it

The trailer is a theatrical exclusive running in front of Zootopia 2. There is no official online version of this cut right now.

What is new in this trailer

Big picture: it is not wildly different from the first trailer that dropped earlier this year. But this version folds in material that debuted during Star Wars Celebration 2025 and a few extra shots fans will care about:

  • Grogu uses the Force to obliterate a mouse droid. It is quick, funny, and very Grogu.
  • A clearer look at Zeb Orrelios from Star Wars Rebels walking side by side with Mando. The design and swagger carry over nicely.
  • Mando and Grogu piloting what looks like an AT-RT, tipping off the edge of a snowy cliff — it appears to be the same spot where Mando brings down an Imperial walker.
  • A gladiator ring moment with the crowd roaring for Rotta the Hutt.

Zeb is getting his moment

Zeb already popped up in live action back in The Mandalorian season 3, so it tracks that he is in the movie. Director Jon Favreau sounds eager to let him loose:

"Now we get to really have fun with him. He is such a compelling character, even if you have never seen Rebels, between the voice, the swagger, and the physical ability."

The road to release

The Mandalorian and Grogu brings Star Wars back to theaters and lands on May 22, 2026. Until the studio drops this trailer online, the only way to see these new shots is to catch Zootopia 2 in theaters.
