Neve Campbell Cashes In: Scream 7 Salary Finally Revealed
After skipping Scream 6 amid a pay dispute, Neve Campbell is set to return for Scream 7 with a major raise, as a new Variety report reveals the eye-popping payday.
Sidney Prescott is back in the game, and this time the paycheck finally matches the legacy. After sitting out Scream 6 over a pay dispute, Neve Campbell has locked in a big return for Scream 7 — with a salary that says the studio knows exactly who fans showed up for in the first place.
Sidney gets her due
According to a new industry report, Campbell will take home $7 million for Scream 7 — a major bump from what she was offered last time around. She bailed after Scream (2022) when talks for the sixth film stalled, which is how we ended up with a Scream 6 without its most enduring final girl. Seven million is a statement, and frankly, overdue.
What blew up behind the scenes
The road to Scream 7 has been rocky. Stars Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega exited the project during development — Barrera was fired after social media posts about the Israel-Palestine conflict, and Ortega departed soon after. Director Christopher Landon then left in the aftermath of Barrera’s firing. Franchise creator Kevin Williamson stepped in to direct and co-wrote the screenplay with Guy Busick, with William Sherak, James Vanderbilt, and Paul Neinstein producing. Not the smoothest handoff, but here we are.
The setup
'When a new Ghostface killer emerges in the quiet town where Sidney Prescott has built a new life, her darkest fears are realized as her daughter becomes the next target. Determined to protect her family, Sidney must face the horrors of her past to put an end to the bloodshed once and for all.'

Yes, about those wild returns...
The new movie is also expected to pull off some surprise resurrections: Matthew Lillard as Stu Macher (last seen alive in 1996’s Scream), Scott Foley as Roman Bridger (the big bad of 2000’s Scream 3), and David Arquette as Dewey Riley (who died in 2022’s Scream). How? Unknown. Sensible? Debatable. Fun to speculate about? Absolutely.
Between Campbell’s pay bump, Williamson back steering the ship, and a rumored roll call of the un-dead, Scream 7 is swinging for the fences. Ghostface will not be the only thing making noise this time.
