Despite the 2023 strikes, this summer is full of exciting movie premieres. Week after week, first-rate movies are hitting theaters. But there are also plenty of premieres in the world of streaming services. Netflix is especially rich with movie releases this summer.

Here are just five movies coming to Netflix in the coming weeks.

A Family Affair – June 28

In this original Netflix rom com, Nicole Kidman stars as Brooke Harwood, a widowed mother who begins a passionate romance with her daughter Zara's (Zoe King) boss, popular young movie star Chris Cole (Zac Efron). Afraid that Chris, whom she can't stand, might hurt her mother, Zara is very unhappy with the affair and all the repercussions it has on her life. After all, Chris is a celebrity and his private life doesn't go unnoticed.

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F – July 3

Forty years after the premiere of the first film and thirty years after the release of the third installment, the fourth film in the Beverly Hills Cop franchise hits theaters in several days. Starring Eddie Murphy, the film follows his character Alex Foley, a Detroit cop, on his new assignment in Beverly Hills, where he returns to help his daughter Jane and a team of local cops uncover a dangerous conspiracy.

Find Me Falling – July 19

Stelana Kliris' romantic comedy centers on John Allman, a struggling, aging rock musician whose last album was a flop. In search of peace and quiet to restore his creativity, he moves to a small town in Cyprus where he hopes to hide out for a while. But his plans are thwarted when strangers begin to recognize him and an old flame suddenly reappears in his life.

Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie – August 2

Featuring the beloved squirrel character from the SpongeBob SquarePants animated series, this comedy cartoon follows Sandy and SpongeBob on their new adventure after Bikini Bottom is dredged from the ocean. As the characters travel to Texas, Sandy's home state, to save Bikini Bottom from a villainous CEO, they visit her family and explore her complicated relationship with the surface world that led her to move to the ocean floor in the first place.

The Union – August 16

Set in New Jersey, the movie follows Mark Wahlberg's Mike, an ordinary construction worker who is more than happy to live his ordinary life. But when Mike's high school girlfriend, Roxanne, reappears in his life, total chaos ensues as Mike becomes involved in a spy operation in Europe, complete with dangerous car chases and shootouts. And though the stakes are high, Mike and Roxanne rediscover their feelings for each other along the way.
