Netflix's Newest Series is a Must-Watch for Elite Fans

It's part sports thriller, part horny soap opera, and yes, there's enough sex to qualify it for late-night status.
Netflix's latest Spanish import, Olympo, just dropped, and if you're wondering whether it's the next Elite or just Elite with protein shakes and doping scandals — you're not alone.
The show takes place at a high-performance training center in the Spanish Pyrenees, where beautiful young athletes work on their synchronized swimming, heptathlon routines, and emotionally unavailable hookups. There's a synchronized swimmer who mysteriously vanishes for a week, a new girl who doesn't want to be there (so of course she gets a major sponsorship), and a rugby player hooking up with a swimmer in a pool storage room. The usual.
The big twist? The series is wrapped around Olympo, a sleek sportswear brand handing out sponsorships like golden tickets — but not without strings. One deal gets signed via literal blackmail, which feels like the most realistic thing in the show.
So... Stream It or Skip It?
If you're into beautiful athletes, high-gloss visuals, softcore sex scenes, and vaguely sinister sponsorship deals, this is probably your thing. If you're hoping for layered characters or tight plotting... temper those expectations.
The first episode plays more like a highlight reel than a story — scenes jump between characters without much glue holding them together. The only major throughline is Amaia's slow-burn doping suspicions, which are likely tied to whatever Olympo's pushing behind the scenes. Also, whatever happened to Yaiza (Zoe's missing friend from the crash) is still very much up in the air.
It's messy, horny, and looks expensive. In other words: Olympo might not stick the landing, but it's probably going to make some noise along the way.
