Naomi Scott Confesses Her Celebrity Crush Is an Animated Character
Naomi Scott just dropped a delightfully nerdy confession: her biggest celebrity crush is Disney’s Robin Hood, the swashbuckling fox from the 1973 classic—revealed during a playful Hits Radio chat.
Naomi Scott just confessed her early celebrity crushes, and the headliner is not a real human. It is, however, a very charming fox wearing a feathered hat. Honestly, makes sense.
The animated crush (yes, the fox)
On Hits Radio, Scott said her first big crush was Disney's Robin Hood. Not the folklore outlaw — the animated fox version from Disney's 1973 movie. The character is a mash-up of the Robin Hood legend and the trickster fox from European fables, Reynard, and he was voiced by Tony winner Brian Bedford. Deep cut trivia? Absolutely. Also fair: that fox was suspiciously dashing.
In a separate chat with Heat World, she was asked if her first animated crush was Disney's Aladdin. She corrected them: it was the fox. That said, she admitted she also had a thing for the animated Aladdin. The irony here is pretty great considering Scott went on to play Princess Jasmine in Disney's live-action Aladdin, opposite Mena Massoud as Aladdin and Will Smith as the Genie.
Other crushes she name-checked
- Mos Def in Alicia Keys' You Don't Know My Name video — Keys plays a diner waitress, and the rapper (now known as Yasiin Bey) is the guy she pines for. Scott remembers the moment vividly:
'He just like comes with his little hat into the cafe and I was just like, 'Ah, love him.''
- Another cartoon animal she adored too... she just could not remember which one on the spot.
- 'The kid from Coach Carter' who delivers the 'Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate' moment — that would be Rick Gonzalez as Timo Cruz in the 2005 Samuel L. Jackson film. When the interviewer wondered if that was just a random character, Scott reminded them he is actually one of the movie's leads. Gonzalez has since popped up in Reaper, Arrow, The Lost Symbol, and most recently Law & Order: Organized Crime.
Life off-camera
Scott has been married to English footballer Jordan Spence since June 2014 after four years of dating. Per Teen Vogue, they met at church when she was 16. Spence came up through West Ham United, spent time with several clubs including Ipswich Town, and captained England at various youth levels. He has not played since his contract with Dutch side ADO Den Haag ended in 2020.
What she is doing now
Career-wise, Scott recently pulled in strong reviews for Smile 2, playing Skye Riley in the horror sequel. She also appeared in the 2025 film Eternal Return, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, and she produced that one too. On top of that, she is filming the stoner comedy Wizards! with Pete Davidson and Franz Rogowski.
So yes, Naomi Scott fell for an animated fox and then Aladdin — and then grew up to be Jasmine. Hard to beat that full-circle arc. Who was your first animated crush? Be honest.
