The CW's rampage continues.

As recently as a half-decade ago, The CW was considered the most popular teen-oriented network out there, churning out several new hit shows each year while ensuring that older series were still loved and watched by fans. Even among big hits like The Vampire Diaries, The 100, or Supernatural, shows based on DC characters were always considered the pride of the network, but all that changed recently with The CW's new management taking control over the network's roster.

In recent years, The CW's management ruthlessly canceled old shows as well as new and promising ones, and the one series that was meant to stop this infamous tradition, Gotham Knights, suffered the same fate.

The series about a bunch of children of famous superheroes and supervillains trying to solve Batman's murder sounded like the hit The CW desperately needed, and the network wasted no time in promoting Gotham Knights as the next big DC project. On top of that, millions of Supernatural fans were keen to tune in just to see Misha Collins' take on Harvey Dent, one of comics' most iconic villains.

But despite its respectable ratings, Gotham Knights was canceled by The CW after just one season, even though the show clearly had a lot of potential if given a chance. Not only was the series canceled, but it was effectively buried as no other streaming service or network decided to pick it up. And it looks like Misha Collins is just as disappointed as all the fans.

'I'm incredibly bummed and selfishly disappointed to not be able to fully explore my "villain arc",' the actor said, 'But I'm proud of the show we made and so grateful to have been able to work with such a smart, caring, good group of people.'

Of course, it's a great shame that Misha Collins wasn't able to portray Harvey Dent's alter ego, Two Face. It looks like the actor pretty much wasted a lot of time playing a character with a huge potential — only to have that potential denied by the network.

And Gotham Knights is not the only show that was dismissed by The CW this year. Both Walker: Independence and The Winchesters, a prequel to the iconic Supernatural, were canceled after just one season, much to the dismay of fans.
