Here's everything you need to know about the singer's background.

Nutsa Buzaladze has already become one of the most popular contestants of American Idol Season 21, but not for a good reason. While the singer certainly has a great voice and stage presence, people feel that the judges were wrong to keep her in the Top 12, as Nutsa's performances were much less impressive than some of the other eliminated contestants.

Here are a few things you need to know about the controversial star.

Nutsa is not from the US

Though Nutsa is competing in American Idol, she is obviously not from America, as her thick ascent quickly proves. In fact, Nutsa is from the Republic of Georgia and currently lives in Dubai, where she performs professionally in theater. It's hard to believe, but Nutsa spent 17 hours on planes to get to Las Vegas in time to audition for Idol. Talk about determination!

Nutsa already won a huge singing competition

While still living in her native country, Nutsa became the winner of the Georgian version of The X Factor, which really boosted her resume at the time and allowed the young artist to live off her hobby and pursue singing professionally. Following her success, Nutsa sang in the Turkish version of The Voice but failed to impress the judges.

Nutsa is not stranger to controversy

During this season's Hollywood Week, Nutsa found herself in a bit of trouble when her duet partner, Carina DeAngelo, accused her of sleeping instead of preparing for a big concert.

Despite this alarming news, Nutsa still won the competition, sending Carina home and proving that sometimes getting some sleep is more important than training hard. However, fans were disappointed with the singer when they found out she had once been accused of ill-treating her singing partners on the show in her home country.

Nevertheless, Nutsa is sure to have a very successful career after this season, with Luke Bryan already calling her a true successor to Jennifer Lopez!

American Idol Season 21 Episode 15 'Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Night' will arrive on ABC on April 30, 2023.
