HoYoverse is about to redraw Genshin Impact’s map. Miliastra Wonderland arrives October 22, 2025 with Version 6.1 Luna II: Song of the Welkin Moon — An Elegy for Faded Moonlight, inviting players to wander a thousand stars and shape their own wonderlands.

Genshin Impact is about to do something it has never done: hand you the keys. HoYoverse is rolling out Miliastra Wonderland alongside Version 6.1 Luna II: Song of the Welkin Moon, subtitled 'An Elegy for Faded Moonlight', on October 22, 2025. Think Genshin’s art and world, but with the open-ended creation tools you usually see in Roblox or Fortnite Creative.

'Welcome to a world full of wondrous inspiration!'

So what is Miliastra Wonderland, exactly?

It’s a full-on UGC platform built into Genshin. Using the Miliastra Sandbox, you can design your own mini-games and custom domains across a bunch of genres. HoYoverse even showed a MOBA-style mode as a proof of concept, and they name-check things like battle royales, party games, management sims, roguelikes, and PvP arenas. The creation tools use visual scripting (picture drag-and-drop logic trees, like Unreal’s Blueprint-style setup), so you don’t need to be a programmer to make something that works.

How you get in

The Wonderland portal unlocks after you finish the Archon Quest Prologue, 'The Outlander Who Caught the Wind'. Step through, and you’re greeted by Manekins: customizable avatars that represent your traveler’s will in this alternate dimension.

Meet your Manekin

You can create a Manekin or Manekina and tweak basically everything: hairstyle, clothes, accessories, makeup, and facial features. The surprise twist is they’re not locked to the Wonderland. HoYoverse says you can take them into Teyvat proper, making these the first truly customizable playable characters in Genshin’s history. Also on day one, the studio is promising 'hundreds' of playable stages.

Cosmetics, progression, and new currencies

Miliastra Wonderland isn’t just a toy box; it comes with its own progression and economy. Your Manekin can equip outfits earned through quests, crafting blueprints, or the new Battle Pass called Awakening Chronicle. There will also be limited-time outfit banners, named Encounter Echoes, which rotate themed cosmetics. Those banners use a new in-game currency called Geodes of Replication, nicknamed Odes, which you earn by playing Wonderland activities, events, and challenges. Rarities run from 2-star to 4-star, and high-tier outfits, exclusive emotes, and stickers can be gifted or traded between players.

Creators can earn, just not on day one

A Creator Earnings System is on the way, with rewards tied to how many people play your stages. The catch: the full monetization framework won’t land until Version 6.3 (Luna IV). HoYoverse says creators will eventually receive compensation that could be in-game or potentially real-world.

The quick version

  • Launch: Version 6.1 Luna II goes live globally October 22, 2025.
  • Platforms: PlayStation, PC, and mobile.
  • Access: Finish 'The Outlander Who Caught the Wind' to unlock the Wonderland portal.
  • Creation: Miliastra Sandbox uses visual scripting; genres include battle royale, party games, management sims, roguelikes, PvP, and yes, MOBA-style modes.

  • Content volume: HoYoverse promises 'hundreds' of stages at launch.
  • Progression: New Battle Pass called Awakening Chronicle.
  • Cosmetics: Encounter Echoes banners rotate themed outfits (2- to 4-star), plus emotes and stickers.

  • Creator payouts: Earnings system arrives fully in Version 6.3 (Luna IV), with engagement-based rewards and possible real-world compensation.

Bottom line

Miliastra Wonderland is HoYoverse building a creation platform inside Genshin, not a one-off event. If you’ve ever wanted to make your own Genshin mini-game, or just dress a custom avatar and take them sightseeing in Teyvat, this is the most dramatic update the series has tried. And if you’re the competitive type, someone is definitely going to spin up that Genshin MOBA you keep asking for.
