The new and old combine in arguably the most fun show on TV!

The Masked Singer is back for its 10th season! So, what can we expect this season from this bizarre but unmissable show that just keeps pulling in the viewers?

Well, according to Robin Thicke, the show is bringing back 'fan-favourite elements from previous seasons' along with 'favourite contestants' who have previously appeared in costume.

Thicke says that one of the secrets to The Masked Singer's success is the fact that the producers have mixed things up a little to keep it interesting. 'Any time a show gets around season 7, it starts to stale out and you have to rejuvenate it.' He told Billboard. 'The last few seasons the theme nights have been so fun — Elton John, the disco night we did last season was amazing,' he continued.

Season 10 will feature elements such as Wild Card, Battle Royale and Ding Dong Keep It bell, as well as more themed nights. Fans can look forward to treats such as one night dedicated to the NFL and another to one-hit wonders.

And, yes, the judges will once again be using the themed evenings as an excuse to dress up and get involved in the spectacle.

While it's great to have a mix of the old and the new as we gear up for another season of entertainment, clue packages and (at times) unbelievable reveals, Thicke sees the show as something more than a madcap hour of fun.

'You can do everything by yourself now with streaming [and phones].' He said. 'The warmth of community and brotherhood and sisterhood is dwindling, so I think it's important any opportunities we have to go to a ball game or go with a bunch of friends…where everyone puts their phone down to watch the show. That's rare in these days and the bond we bring is meaningful.'

The new season began airing on 27th September and is sure to provide just as many thrills, spills and wild guesses as the previous series. But we can also look out for a little touch of nostalgia, as some of the previous features and contestants deliver that warm glow of 'remember when?' that is part of every family and friendship group.

So, whatever else you may do with your upcoming weeks, make sure you commit one hour to absolute silliness and join your friends and family in trying to guess who's behind the mask.
