Let's be honest. We've all mixed up the two Toms at least once. And as much as it's amusing for us, it's pretty disheartening for Hollander.

'It's been very difficult, 'cuase, you know, I was here first. He's enormously famous. Obviously, I don't actually get mistaken for him, but in non-visual contexts, I am mistaken for him all the time. So, like, talking to utility companies, they just, "And what's your name?" And they go, "Tom Holland?" 'Cause they've heard Tom Holland, Tom Holland. You go, "No, it's Tom HollanDER,"' the actor shared in a recent interview.

The most awkward situations happen when it comes to children. According to Hollander, he's always told by someone that their kids are most excited to meet him, but he understands right away that he's not the Tom the little ones are expecting to see.

Tom Hollander Was Sent Tom Holland's Avengers Paycheck

Remarkably, the confusion between the two Toms continues in the professional world.

'People in the accounts department of my agency got confused. And we [Tom and I] were with the same agency. Briefly. And it was a terrible moment,' Tom Hollander revealed the time he almost received Holland's paycheck by mistake. 'I got an email from the agency saying, "Payment advice, your first box-office bonus for The Avengers." And I thought, "I don't think I'm in The Avengers." And it was an astonishing amount of money. It was not his salary. It was his first box-office bonus, not the whole box-office [bonus], the first one. And it was more money than I've ever… It was a seven-figure sum.'

In the end, the more experienced actor laughs off the situation. Still, it is hard not to sympathize with Tom Hollander.
