Tatiana Maslany’s social media call to cancel Disney+ has supercharged rumors that Marvel is recasting She-Hulk, raising questions over whether her 2022 Disney+ debut was also her last.

Marvel fans spent the morning convincing themselves She-Hulk just got recast because Tatiana Maslany told people to cancel Disney+. The reality is messier, and also, nobody official has said anything. Let’s unpack it.

What actually happened

Maslany posted an Instagram Story with a behind-the-scenes photo of herself in what looks like She-Hulk motion-capture gear from the 2022 Disney+ series 'She-Hulk: Attorney at Law' — still the only MCU project she has done so far. The image had this text slapped on top:

'Cancel your @disneyplus @hulu @espn subscriptions!'

The internet connected dots it does not have

From there, the usual scoop and speculation machine kicked in. On September 19, 2025, scooper account @MyTimeToShineH shared a screenshot of her Story on X with the caption: 'Guess She-Hulk isn’t coming back?' That set off a chain reaction of recast/exit chatter. For the record, there has been no announcement that Maslany is out as She-Hulk, and Marvel hasn’t confirmed she’s in anything upcoming either.

  • @ShoutoutKG: 'Oh She Hulk is never gonna be seen again.'
  • @MyTimeToShineH: 'Guess She-Hulk isn’t coming back.'
  • @tyleravax: 'She boutta lose her job, too????'
  • @Mickey_Central: 'How to ensure your show will never get a second season.'
  • @CancelThisPod: 'Guess who just got their scenes cut from Doomsday.'

About that 'Doomsday' talk

There have been rumors that She-Hulk could pop up in the upcoming crossover feature some folks are calling 'Avengers: Doomsday.' Marvel Studios has not announced a cast for that film, and they have not said Maslany is in it. So anyone claiming her 'scenes got cut' is jumping several steps ahead of the facts.

Why would she post that?

Some people framed her Story as a reaction to ABC — part of Disney — supposedly pulling 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' off the air after Kimmel made a controversial comment tied to posts about Charlie Kirk’s reported death following a September 10 shooting. To be crystal clear: those claims are circulating on social, not confirmed by Disney or ABC. Treat them as unverified unless and until a credible statement or report surfaces.

Where things actually stand

As of now, there is zero official word from Marvel or Maslany about her status as She-Hulk. The Instagram Story exists. The fan/speculator reaction exists. Everything else is rumor wearing confidence as a disguise. If Marvel recasts Jennifer Walters, you will hear about it in a press release, at a con, or from a trade — not a chain of quote-tweets.
